The Mekong: What is happening in and on the river? Do we know?
Rachel and I ran two day Teacher workshops in Nan, Pakou, Nong Kiaw and Luang Prabang for over 120 educators. The participants in each workshop created something new or different, much to our delight. We were never quite sure how their murals would look at the end of the two days. I tried out our plan at the Deaf- mute centre with the children to see how it would work. We were very grateful to have interpreters with us from the Luang Prabang Library at every workshop. We could not have run them without Singsai, Sengdao, Ni, Chanthany and LinDa and of course Madam Chantha who organised all the details for us.An amazing group of workers, who are in demand from NGO's all over the world to support their initiatives and ideas for Laos people. We love working alongside them. They ran a workshop in the library focussed upon the work we had done about the Mekong river after we had left and gone back to Australia. They were very proud of their achievements as were we.
