During the past few months of 2021, with most of the world in Lockdown , including Laos and Luang Prabang, we have been working online with the Library staff there to support access to all of our Teacher programs online. Rachel has created a website that they can access and we have uploaded our programs from the past 10 years. https://www.luangprabanglibrary.com/ We are currently in the process of adding demonstration videos by the Library staff in Loatian AND we are translating all of the text into Laotian so that the teachers can read and follow the process of the workshops back in their village classrooms. Rachel has secured funding to support the work in Laos and we are working hard up the Australian end to set up all of the resources on the Luang Prabang Library website. We have worked together on several workshops and are starting on the next one this month, November 2021. This will mean that all of the workshops will be accessible WITHOUT us with just Chantha, Sengdao, Singsai, Nee and Chanthany running the workshops with the Laotian teachers in the Community centres near their schools. It's our sustainability strategy !! Yay! We can't set this work up here without considerable support from the Library staff in Laos. We are immensely grateful for the co-operative nature of our partnership that this can occur... Maybe not as fast as we envisage, but it will happen. Huge thanks to Rachel and the Rotary funding for this endeavour and of course, Chantha, the Librarian in charge of the Library. So, Lockdown or not, the work keeps going. We believe in the power of inquiry to create curious students wherever they are in the world. So, supporting curious teachers is the beginning!!
